When you think “I need to go to bed earlier,” you’re using your conscious mind.

But most of what you say and do (including those late nights), has roots in a deeper layer of your experience. It’s governed by the subconscious.

Most of us vastly underestimate how deeply the subconscious shapes our lives.

The subconscious is like a storehouse for experience, holding all of the elements that have shaped you. Nearly everything you can think of that makes you you. All you’ve ever felt, known, dreamed or experienced. All your deep seated beliefs – the ones that serve you and the ones that don’t.

Your subconscious mind is there in your decision making.  It’s there, choosing your romantic partners and shaping your relationships. In it lie the thought patterns behind addictions, low self worth, and every single thing you might struggle with in your life.

Unfortunately, most of us live largely unaware of what is going on in our subconscious mind.  This lack of awareness comes at a cost.  Because our subconscious mind, whether or not we are aware of it, shapes nearly everything that we do.  As Carl Jung said, “if you don’t make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.”

Fortunately, there’s a way out of this cycle!

That way is Suggestion Hypnosis.

Suggestion Hypnosis allows you to bring your positive intention for change beyond the conscious mind, to transform problematic thought patterns at the level where they originate – in the subconscious.

What Does a Session Look Like?

Each suggestion hypnosis session is unique because it is customized to your specific needs and situation.  Your session will include:

Inquiry
I’ll ask questions to help identify areas where you feel stuck.

Generating Suggestions
This is a collaborative process.  We transform each negative belief into its opposite – a powerful affirmation tailor made to you.  These are the suggestions we will use in the hypnosis.

The Trance
Drawing on my training in hypnosis, meditation and integrated energy medicine, I guide you into a state of deep relaxation.  In this state, you are able to receive the suggestions where they most matter – on the level of your subconscious mind.

Recording
After our session, you’ll receive a recording of the trance for repeated listening.

Affirmations
You’ll also receive the affirmations in written form which you can continue to work with on your own time.

 Q – Is this mind control?

A – No. If you’ve ever seen the kind of hypnotist that does stage shows and gets people to do embarrassing things in front of people, you need to know that this is an entirely different thing.

Unlike stage hypnosis, suggestion hypnosis is gentle, supportive, and consensual. We work in support of your deepest wellbeing. You will never be asked to do anything that you feel uncomfortable about, and you will never give up your power.

Q – I don’t think I can be hypnotized. What if I am immune to the power of hypnosis?

A – Some people carry this fear, but in fact, nearly everyone can be hypnotized! 

Have you ever daydreamed?  Or let your mind wander while driving?  Have you ever spaced out while doing a jigsaw puzzle?  Or lost yourself in any type of creative activity?  

Well, it might surprise you to hear this, but in fact, each of the things listed above is a type of hypnotic trance!

The truth is, people generally experience some type of hypnotic trance every day.  

The difference here is that, when working therapeutically with hypnosis, we combine the power of the hypnotic state with the power of suggestion to help facilitate change.

Q – How soon will I see results?

If you approach the practice with an open mind and make use of the resources provided, you’re likely to see results after just one session. 

That said, hypnosis for self betterment is a practice – the more you do it, the better it works! 

For this reason, our sessions will support you in learning self-hypnosis, which will allow you to continue the work on your own.  After each session, I’ll send you a digital recording of the hypnosis to listen to at your leisure, as well your own personal list of customized affirmations for use throughout your day.

Q – How long is a session?

A – Suggestion Hypnosis sessions are up to 75 minutes long.  The trance itself lasts 10 – 15 minutes.  Longer suggestion hypnosis is available as needed, and can be useful for specific purposes, such as for listening to while falling asleep.

Q – What are your certifications?

I hold a CHT (Certificate of Hypnotherapy) from the Foundation of the Sacred Stream.  Additionally, I am a practitioner of two related modalities, Depth Hypnosis and Applied Shamanic Counseling, which can be brought in as needed to support the change you seek.
